Having Started with offering listed derivatives, the firm is now awaiting regulatory approval to offer other exchange-traded products (ETPs)

Forster sees the move as a natural progression for the firm, "Although the underlying may differ, this is a very traditional route for us to take," he said.

While the process is quite mature, TP ICAP's main bank dealer clients are increasingly interested in developing the ability to trade over-the-counter (OTC) instruments such as non-deliverable forwards with eachother.

"In terms of future trends, we are seeing increasing interest from clients in OTC derivatives such as NDF's," Forster said. "Of course that will  not be a quick process because of the nuances around regulations around different regions, but the interest is there. If and when the foundatinoal pieces get put in place, we will have the ability to voice broke these products."
